A Performance Rights Organization (PRO) collects and pays out royalties when songs are played in public β like on the radio, TV, live concerts, or in restaurants and stores. They represent songwriters, composers, and music publishers, making sure these creators get paid whenever their music is performed publicly. In the U.S., the main PROs are ASCAP, BMI, and SESAC.
